Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue, Galactic, The Soul Rebels, Tank and the Bangas, Anders Osborne, and many more will be performing at “Shorty Fest”, on Saturday, September 26th, at 8pm NOLA time and 6pm L.A. time. This year’s event will look a little different, as the party will be ONLINE, streaming for free on several social media platforms. Enjoy amazing music from the Trombone Shorty Foundation’s annual flagship event, and consider donating to the Foundation by visiting www.paypal.me/shortyfoundation OR by texting “give” to (504) 509-5010. Everybody loves beignets! And normally every first Saturday in October in City Park, you could attend Beignet Fest to celebrate this most iconic of New Orleans’s desserts. Unfortunately due to the pandemic, Beignet Fest is postponed until 2021. However, their charitable mission is far too critical not to find a way forward. Proceeds from Beignet Fest benefit the Tres Doux Foundation, which makes grants to nonprofits serving children with developmental delays.
So, festival organizers pivoted and are hosting “Beignet Fest at Their Place” from July 24-26, at food vendor locations around New Orleans, Baton Rouge and on the Northshore. Organizers have worked closely with food vendors to offer a bonanza of beignet dishes all weekend long, from traditional sweet treats to savory delicacies that feature seafood, cheese and more. A full menu of beignet dishes offered by food vendors along with locations can be found at https://beignetfest.com/. In keeping with the competitive nature of the festival, patrons will have a chance to vote for their favorite sweet and savory beignet dishes at beignetfest.com. Winners will be announced following the event.
Since Beignet Fest is a fundraiser, all food vendors will have paper “beignet logo dolls” available for patrons who donate to write a special tribute. Logo dolls will be displayed at food vendor locations throughout the weekend. People can also donate on the Beignet Fest website when viewing the food vendor menu. So, if you’re in the New Orleans area, enjoy a delicious beignet from a participating vendor and donate to help a child in need. It doesn’t get much better than that!
Virtual Fiesta! Where? Comfort of your own home or venue of choice! When? Saturday July 11, 9:30am NOLA time, 7:30am L.A. time! On Saturday July 11th, 2020 all are invited to join the team as they present a way to revel with the friends they normally see each year, but cannot due to the virus.
We're working to bring as much "normal" entertainment as we can. The Reverend Psych Ward will be your host from Amish Country and Los Pastores will be in New Orleans (finally able to join the party rather than running around like mad). We'll bounce around to some of our favorite fans' parties, have some live entertainment pop in, and of course we'll have our RollerBulls!!!
Here's the plan. Find a host, or be the host. Register for your ZOOM access code to join the interactive party. Invite your friends, or enemies, let's use this however it best suits us. Blend up your sangria, get dressed in your finest San Fermin attire and get together the morning of July 11th. You can start as early as you like, we wont judge! We'll open the virtual doors at 9:30am central time. Why so late? Well we wanted our West Coast friends to be able to get up at a decent hour, it is only fair. Don't get used to it locals, we go back to crack o dawn in 2021.
The access code is $20, good for the host plus 1...that's $10/head. We ask that your guests chip in too and are asking the same. They can send via PayPal to merchandise@nolabulls.com...this is on the honor system! We'd love to be able to donate a little to our friends this year and hope that you will join and support us!
